12 out of 12 in November: A day at the desk with a dancing finish

November 14, 2021 | Reviews

12 out of 12 is an old blogger tradition from "Draußen nur Kännchen"." where we document the 12th day of each month with 12 photos and blog about that day. I've participated here from time to time since mid-year. The last time for me was in July And this is actually my first blog post in 3 months. Why? Well, August is my offline month, which naturally includes my homepage and blog. In September, I also only did the bare minimum online, primarily related to my work. October was then very busy and unfortunately, I didn't manage to dedicate time to my blog. November has also been very busy so far, but I miss blogging and the blogging community, so I'm jumping back into the blogosphere with this 12 of 12 post. November 12, 2021, was a very full workday. Diverse online appointments, little movement, and a lot of brain gymnastics switching between the most varied topics, projects, and tasks. In the morning, I need a big pot of coffee. But the first thing in the morning, even before coffee, is a PCR gargle test for me. Although I'm vaccinated twice, better safe than sorry. Testing two to three times a week is important to me so that everyone is protected during coaching, training, and consultations. Better to be safe 😉 And when the test is taken to the next drop-off box, I enjoy the wonderful Vienna atmosphere right away in the morning. Even after 12 years of living here, it's still wonderful.
The image shows an approx. 400 ml mug in a white and blue Nordic design, with the text "nix für lütte" on it. Lorena has only one eye open as she drinks from it.

First, coffee in the morning. A big mug. Or two 😉

A PCR gargle test is part of my routine at least 2-3 times a week to best protect myself and others during coaching, training, and consultations.

After coffee and a PCR test, the workday began. First, preparing an online training session together with Helga Pesserer, that I will be using next week in my role as a health and safety consultant for "Tut gut!" Health Care Ltd. allowed to accompany. The topic here: Designing a health-promoting online training course that is as engaging as possible, enabling health officers from various (community) businesses to establish or consolidate sustainable occupational health promotion.

At 9 AM, the first meeting to prepare for an online training next week.

After that, it seamlessly transitioned into a project team meeting of "Healthy Calves - Healthy Environment" by FHCampus Wien. One of the projects I was an external evaluator for, in cooperation with the Institute for Systemic Organizational Research accompany. Topics here: Firstly, a brief presentation of the latest survey results on a specific measure aimed at increasing active mobility among employees and students. Secondly, a discussion on the current status and the planning for the remaining period until the project's end and final report submission in June 2022.
The image shows several pie charts and other graphics as a kind of collage.

In internal meetings, I naturally don't take screenshots or photos. Therefore, there's only a symbolic image here, which I also posted as a snippet on Instagram on the 12th.

This was followed almost seamlessly by a final joint introduction to the course "Qualitative Research Methods" in Bachelor of Business Administration and Business Psychology at the FernFH in Wiener Neustadt with my colleague Georg Zepke. We've been shaping this course together for several years now. And almost immediately afterward, the online kick-off for the course took place with 58 of the total 70 students. Our task this winter semester: to make students enthusiastic about qualitative research. Topics covered: research process, qualitative methods, quality criteria, take-home assignments related to their own small group research project, including interview techniques.

Another semester of qualitative research begins again, under the guidance of Georg Zepke and myself, for the Bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Business Psychology at FernFH.

In between these appointments, there were of course emails, phone calls, and documentation. The workday started at 8:30 AM and ended at 4:30 PM. After that, I was cooked a delicious meal and then it was time to prepare for the evening program: a surprise birthday party for a dear friend, theme: Hollywood. I was the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland and got to dance the night away with Crocodile Dundee, Jack Sparrow, Cleopatra, the Fifth Element, and the enchanting Jeannie. It was in a nice, small, private setting, with sufficient safety precautions (vaccinated and everyone additionally PCR tested) and distancing.

Dinner and a short rest on the sofa with a book and the cat before the evening program begins.
